  • Are you seeking co-financing of a development initiative? This information is for you!

The Polish government provides financial support for initiatives that are aimed at socio-economic development and enhanced well-being in selected developing countries. This support involves co-financing of projects developed by Polish entities in cooperation with a partner from such a country.

What kind of initiatives? Every year, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces a call for proposals with respect to “Polish Development Assistance”. The rules governing the call for proposals specify, among others, countries eligible for the assistance, objectives and priorities for actions to be taken, criteria which must be met by project proposals and the rules governing their evaluation. Information about the call for proposals is in each case published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( and the website of Polish aid (

Who? Project proposals may be submitted in particular by non-governmental organizations, local governments, universities and research institutes. An entity submitting a proposal must be registered in Poland. Thus, non-Polish entities interested in carrying out a development project for the benefit of their local community, region or country should establish cooperation with one of such entities and invite it to jointly submit a project proposal.

We recommend going to the database of Polish NGOs at:

How? Once acquainted with the rules governing the call for proposals, including the type of initiatives that may be co-financed, the Polish entity and its partner shall develop jointly a project and submit it by the defined deadline to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The submitted projects shall be evaluated and the best of them will be recommended for funding. Projects may include measures which are implemented within one or two years.
